The Margaret Flockton Award is an exhibition open to Australian and overseas artists producing scientific illustrations of a high standard. Each year, First and Second prizes are awarded to the best illustrations, as well as three Highly Commended awards. I was very pleased to receive a second prize this year, for my pen and ink illustration of the tiny waterlily, Nymphaea thermarum which I drew during its first flowering in the Tropical Nursery at RBG Kew last year. The illustration has since been published in Curtis's Botanical Magazine.
